NDMC sets world record with 10-Km canvas painted by 35,000 artists in ‘Viksit Bharat’ event

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has made a world record of 10 Km long live canvas painting by more than 35,000 artists and students at a time in a mega art event on the theme of “Viksit Bharat Ke Rang, Kala Ke Sang” under Sewa Parv. This event was organized by NDMC in collaboration with Triveni Kala Sangam and Delhi University at Kartavya Path Lawn, New Delhi, today.

Addressing the gathering, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said that today’s vision of duty was beyond imagination, where thousands of youth came together to paint the colours of a developed India on a 10 km long canvas. “The enthusiasm of all the artists and students was amazing and they never tired of painting the developed India of their dreams,” he said.

In his address, Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, stated that this event is a historic moment of creative art, where thousands of young people have simultaneously created a 10-kilometer-long canvas, imagining the India of their dreams, by coloring it.

“The spirit of creativity among the youth was evident here. The theme of this event is very important, as it not only attempts to express a developed India through colours but also brings life through colours,” he said.

Union Minister of Railways of India Ashwini Vaishnaw, said that “Viksit Bharat Ke Rang, Kala Ke Sang” under Sewa Parv is not being organized only in Delhi, but across the entire nation, in every state, every district and every village.

Addressing the gathering Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the name ‘Viksit Bharat ke Rang, Kala ke Sang’ (Colours of a Developed India, Along with Art) is as beautiful as the event itself. “Thousands of young participants have painted the picture of India’s future on this white canvas, which is not merely an artistic display but a symbol of the dreams of a new India. The responsibility of building a ‘Viksit Bharat’ truly lies with the youth – the kind of India and the kind of future they wish to shape. Through this initiative, the effort to connect the Sewa Pakhwada (service fortnight) with every citizen has been both praiseworthy and historic,” she said.

Stating that the country does not belong to any one individual, but to all 140 crore Indians, Gupta said that how we shape it and in which direction we take it in the future is our collective responsibility. She added that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, through his exceptional leadership and tireless efforts, has given India a new identity on the global stage. “Today, India has emerged as a strong, self-assured nation willing to contribute to global cooperation,” she said.
